Top web tools/sites for the average student.

These websites will save you time, money and also can make you some money!

1) Skype: Forget using your vital mobile phone minutes to ring home, with any computer (with a microphone) and an internet connection you can talk between two computers. Get your parents to download skype and download it for yourself and you have FREE voice calls forever!

3) Google Docs: You will have to work in a group at some point over your university life, so why not check-out Google Docs its heavily for collaboration work. Simply give access to other users and they can edit a document online, without you having to use email, copy and paste etc. You can talk on instant messenger or skype and work together.

5) Audible: Students sometimes need to relax or in fact find an alternative to reading books. Have you heard of audiobooks? Audiobooks are books generally read by the author, this gives stories a true sense of people and accents, if you haven't ever tried on you should! They also offer a free audiobook for you to try!

6) theTrainline: If you need a train to get between university and home you should already have a student rail card, but you may still be being charged an arm and a leg for your tickets. I have always used theTrainline as they offer the cheapest online rail tickets.

7) Wikipedia: Although Wikipedia is strictly 'naughty' for use within any university work, many still do use it, if you become a member you can also see what content on wikipedia is new, old, trusted etc. Its a great place to start your research, look at the sources on the page and read more about them.

9) Google Reader: Talk about information. One of the main reasons you should be at university of college is to learn, with Google Reader you can keep up-to-date on the lastest news from the web, customize your own area with relevant content.
